Ceramic plates
Nowadays, when armoring military machinery, technicians more often use ceramic armor: it is more lightweight in comparison to its steel or aluminum counterpart, and at the same time not inferior, but superior in bulletproofs.
Technology development of ceramic armor manufacturing is conducted by «Alox» Company specialists since 1978. Improvement and implementation of ceramic products as a component of composite armor for military personnel and machinery protection of Russian Federation's Ministry of Defense is ongoing to this day.
Armored ceramics in composite armor are used to protect military personnel (body armor) and machinery (helicopters, armored vehicles, small landing crafts) from ballistic damage.
Protection class:
- for protective structures of armor clothes up to Бр5 (ГОСТ Р50744-95)
- for military machinery up to Бр6 (ГОСТ Р50744-95)
Ceramic armor is produced in the form of plates of various standard sizes depending on purpose (Table 1). «Alox» Company also makes production by client’s drafts.
